Safety & Precaution
- Be animal aware. The mountains of WNC are home to many critters, including venomous snakes, bears and coyotes. Following proper bear etiquette by eliminating odors from food supplies is a great way to lower your risk of a bear encounter. Not moving logs or brush and keeping kids & dogs out of the bushes will help limit exposure to snakes.
- Tent Campers Should follow all precautions while camping in such a diverse climate. Tents are not adequate protection from lightening. Please make sure you take some time to come up with a plan should you encounter a lightening and/or thunder storm while camping.
